Sustainability has become a priority for many organizations, including those in the automotive industry. Manufacturers and end users alike are realizing the importance of recycling today for the good of tomorrow but must also be aware of the cleanliness required for their operations. Not only is the supply chain of recycled products a concern, but also the inherent risk of using recycled materials. The revolutionary recycling process for this recycled polyester converts post-consumer plastic bottles to 100% continuous filament polyester, the same substrate used in Contec’s standard polyester tubular wipes.

Made from 100% recycled plastic bottles, Contec knits 30% to 50% recycled yarn into a blend with 50% to 70% virgin polyester yarn to make our tubular RevWipes. These tubular are then laundered and packaged in a controlled environment and are low in extractables, particles and fibers. This recycled yarn is compatible with common automotive and surface preparation solvents. Choosing to use products that contain recycled yarn, keeps bottles out of our landfills and oceans, conserves electricity and water, and reduces greenhouse emissions and petroleum use, allowing sustainability to be incorporated without compromising quality or performance.
